Since Kunamokst and Wauna La-Mon’tay sent contingents to a National Induction Experience in June, our section has seen the swift mobilization of both lodges to begin work on their respective lodge Induction Experiences. Wauna La-Mon’tay’s Induction Experience is scheduled for Aug. 28-30, and Kunamokst’s is to be Oct. 16-18.
The lodge induction experiences are designed to debut the new induction process to the members of a lodge. These events are fantastic opportunities for Arrowmen to participate in the new induction process firsthand and learn to lead in it going forward. Moreover, those who attended the National Induction Experience in June are to be the ones orchestrating and executing the event, so the lodge induction experience is a leadership opportunity for varying stages of youth leaders.
The lodge induction experience is certain to prove incredibly useful to our lodges, too, as it will provide them invaluable insight into how each lodge can best implement the new induction model. It is the ambition of our lodges to implement this model rather quickly, with Wauna seeking to kick it off with real candidates at their fall induction! With this short timeline, the lodges will have to learn quickly from their induction experiences to dive into their real inductions under the new model.
Ultimately, these lodge induction experiences, just like the National Induction Experience, will necessitate change and learning on the lodge level. However, these events come with the promises of further youth leadership experience and the opportunity for lodges to prepare for their upcoming inductions. With these promises in mind, I would encourage everyone interested to reach out to their lodge leadership and express interest in learning about and participating in the lodge induction experience.
