Well everyone, 2025 is officially over! Now, it is time to look ahead to the great year before us. This is a quick overview of all the major events that will take place in 2026!
Starting in January (obviously), the section leadership will be meeting on Jan. 10 for a Council of Chiefs! There they will vote on the theme and begin the long planning process for conclave this year, in addition to making any other important decisions for the section. To close out the month, Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge will be hosting the 2026 Wauna Inductions and Ceremonies Conference (WICC) at Camp Meriwether from Jan. 30 – Feb. 1. WICC is a great event designed to train the lodge for the induction season, covering ceremonies, elangomats, induction staff, and more. Interested in attending? Registration for WICC is open.
Next up in February, Kunamokst Lodge will have their first event of the year with their Winter Fellowship from Feb. 20-22 at Camp Baker! The theme is “Hand in Hand”, reflecting on the important steps on bonding together in a new lodge. It will be a time of fun, brotherhood and games! Check out their website for more information about the event, including pricing and registration.
March starts off with Wauna La-Mon’tay’s Spring Rendezvous and banquet at Camp Meriwether from Mar. 6-8! Rendezvous is filled with fun games, activities, classes, and food. It also celebrates the lodge through the awards ceremony. You can register for Rendezvous now. Additionally, the National Leadership Seminar (NLS), the highest leadership training offered by the OA, will be taking place at Camp Arnold in Eatonville, WA, from Mar. 27-29. Register for NLS today!
In April, two events are happening at the same time! The Kunamokst Spring Fellowship will go from Apr. 24-26 at Camp Baker. Expect great fellowship, bonding, service, and fun! The very same weekend, Wauna La-Mon’tay will be hosting a new Cub Scout super weekend at Camp Meriwether. Staffed by the lodge, it will provide activities and programs for Cub Scouts from across Cascade Pacific Council.
Starting in May are Wauna La-Mon’tay’s spring inductions, with their Vigil Induction on May 8-9, Meriwether induction a week later, and the Baldwin induction the last weekend of the month, May 29-31. Kunamokst also has an OA callout ceremony on May 16, and will join the Pacific Crest Council at Camp Baker for a day of service two weeks later on May 30.
The induction weekends continue into June with the Pioneer induction June 12-14 and the Baker induction a week later, June 19-21. And while Wauna La-Mon’tay takes a break from events until conclave, Kunamokst has their Melakwa induction July 17-19, and the induction at Camp McLoughlin from Aug. 21-23. In addition, the Crater Lake Service Project will occur a week later on Aug. 29!
Next up is Section G16’s annual conclave! It will be at Rogue Community College in Grants Pass, OR., from Sept. 11-13. It will be a great weekend of brotherhood and fun, in addition to the important elections of our section leadership. You can learn more about conclave on our website. Furthermore, taking place on the last weekend of September is Wauna’s fall induction at Camp Lewis!
There’s a flurry of activity in October to close the year! Kunamokst will have their Fall Fellowship from Oct. 2-4 at Camp McLoughlin, and Wuana La-Mon’tay will have their fall summit the weekend after at Camp Meriwether! Finally, Kunamokst again will have the Makualla induction from Oct. 16-18 at (you guessed it!) Camp Makualla. To end the year, Wauna La-Mon’tay will host the College of Youth Leadership and University of Scouting on Nov. 7 at the Mt. Hood Community College to help teach leadership to young Scouts and adult leaders.
With all of these great things to look forward to, 2026 is shaping up to be an incredible year, and I can’t wait to see what we will accomplish as a section these next twelve months. Happy New Year everyone!
