Conclave Photographer

About This Position

The Photographer for the Section G16 Conclave Communications Committee plays a vital role in visually documenting all aspects of the 2025 conclave. This individual will be responsible for capturing high-quality photographs of key events, activities, attendees, and the overall atmosphere, providing a comprehensive visual record of the entire conclave experience for use in various communication materials and archival purposes.

Reports to: Conclave Comms Operations Lead

Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Event Coverage: Capture photographs of all key events, sessions, workshops, ceremonies, social activities, and general happenings throughout the conclave.
  • Attendee Documentation: Photograph attendees participating in various activities, interacting with each other, and enjoying the conclave experience.
  • Candid Moment Capture: Capture spontaneous and authentic moments that showcase the energy and spirit of the event.
  • Formal Photography (If Required): Take posed group shots or individual portraits as requested.
  • High-Quality Image Capture: Ensure all photographs are well-composed, properly exposed, and technically sound.
  • Variety of Shots: Capture a diverse range of shots, including wide shots to establish context, medium shots to show interactions, and close-ups to highlight details and emotions.
  • Timely Delivery of Images: Ensure photos are processed and delivered to the Media Archivist or designated team members in a timely manner.
  • Adherence to Schedule: Follow the event schedule to ensure all key moments are captured.
  • Equipment Management: Properly handle and maintain all assigned photography equipment.
  • Collaboration with Team: Work closely with other members of the communications team (videographers, social media managers) to ensure comprehensive coverage and alignment with communication goals.
  • Following Directives: Take direction from the Communications Committee leadership regarding specific events or individuals to prioritize for photography.
  • Image Selection and Basic Editing: Review captured images, select the best shots, and perform basic editing tasks such as cropping and adjusting exposure.
  • Representing the Committee: Interact with attendees and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Potential for Themed Shoots: Participate in any planned themed photoshoots or specific visual requests.
  • Adherence to Conclave and Section Guidelines: Ensure all communication activities align with the conclave code of conduct, Section G16 brand and style guidelines, and the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Other Duties: Completes other duties as assigned by the Key Lead or Operations Manager.
 
Volunteers for this position must provide their own photography equipment (phone camera is acceptable).
 
This position requires attendance at the 2025 Section G16 Conclave.
