About This Position
The Graphic Designer for the Section G16 Conclave Communications Committee is responsible for creating visually engaging graphics and designs to support the communication efforts for the 2025 conclave. This role involves developing a range of visual assets that enhance the event’s branding, promote activities, and convey key information across various platforms, both digital and potentially print.
Reports to: Conclave Comms Operations Lead
Key Responsibilities
- Creating Visual Assets: Design a variety of graphics, including social media posts, website banners, and potentially print materials like flyers or program elements.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs adhere to the established Section G16 and conclave branding guidelines, maintaining a consistent visual identity.
- Concept Development: Collaborate with other members of the communications team to understand project needs and develop creative visual concepts.
- Layout and Composition: Design visually appealing and informative layouts that effectively communicate the intended message.
- Typography and Color Palette Selection: Choose appropriate typography and color palettes that are visually appealing, legible, and aligned with the brand.
- Image Sourcing and Manipulation: Select and potentially edit or manipulate images and illustrations for use in designs.
- File Preparation: Prepare final design files in the appropriate formats and resolutions for various digital and print outputs.
- Version Control: Manage different versions of designs and ensure the correct files are used.
- Adherence to Deadlines: Manage time effectively to ensure design projects are completed and delivered according to established timelines.
- Incorporating Feedback: Revise designs based on feedback from the communications team.
- Collaboration with Content Creators: Work closely with content writers and other team members to integrate visuals with written content.
- Understanding Target Audience: Create designs that are visually appealing and relevant to the intended audience of the conclave.
- Staying Updated on Design Trends: Keep abreast of current graphic design trends and best practices.
- Adherence to Conclave and Section Guidelines: Ensure all communication activities align with the conclave code of conduct, Section G16 brand and style guidelines, and the Scout Oath and Law.
- Other Duties: Completes other duties as assigned by the Key Lead or Operations Manager.
