About This Position
The Day-In-Review Editor for the Section G16 Conclave Communications Committee is the skilled post-production lead responsible for transforming raw video footage captured by the videographers into a compelling and engaging weekend review video for the Saturday night show at the 2025 conclave. This individual will weave together the highlights of the event into a cohesive visual narrative that celebrates the conclave experience.
Reports to: Conclave Comms Operations Lead
Key Responsibilities
- Video Footage Ingest and Organization: Efficiently receive, organize, and manage the video footage captured by the Day-In-Review Videographers.
- Video Editing and Assembly: Skillfully edit and assemble the raw footage into a polished and engaging weekend review video, adhering to time constraints and creative direction.
- Storytelling through Editing: Craft a compelling narrative that effectively highlights the key moments, activities, and overall spirit of the conclave through strategic video sequencing and pacing.
- Incorporating Music and Sound: Select and integrate appropriate music, sound effects, and potentially ambient audio to enhance the viewing experience.
- Adding Graphics and Text: Incorporate any necessary text overlays, lower thirds, and graphics to provide context and information.
- Color Correction and Grading: Perform basic color correction and grading to ensure visual consistency and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the video.
- Ensuring Smooth Transitions: Utilize appropriate video transitions to create a seamless and professional flow between scenes.
- Collaboration with Communications Team: Work closely with the Operations Lead and other members of the communications team to understand the desired tone, key messages, and any specific content requirements for the weekend review video.
- Adherence to Deadlines: Manage time effectively to ensure the final weekend review video is completed and ready for the Saturday night show.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate strong technical skills in video editing software.
- Review and Revision: Incorporate feedback from the communications team and make necessary revisions to the video.
- Troubleshooting: Address any technical issues that may arise during the editing process.
- Final Output and Delivery: Prepare and deliver the final weekend review video in the required format for the Saturday night show.
- Maintaining Project Files: Keep project files organized and backed up appropriately.
- Adherence to Conclave and Section Guidelines: Ensure all communication activities align with the conclave code of conduct, Section G16 brand and style guidelines, and the Scout Oath and Law.
- Other Duties: Completes other duties as assigned by the Key Lead or Operations Manager.
