About This Position
The Attendee Videographer for the Section G16 Conclave Communications Committee plays a crucial role in capturing the personal experiences and perspectives of the attendees at the 2025 conclave. Focusing on creating engaging video content featuring interviews, testimonials, and candid moments, this individual will help showcase the impact and highlights of the event through the voices and stories of its participants.
Reports to: Conclave Comms Operations Lead
Key Responsibilities
- Attendee Interviews: Conduct on-camera interviews with conclave attendees to gather their thoughts, experiences, and key takeaways from the event.
- Testimonial Gathering: Capture video testimonials from attendees about specific sessions, activities, or the overall conclave experience.
- Candid Moment Capture: Film spontaneous and authentic moments of attendees interacting, participating, and enjoying the conclave.
- Storytelling through Attendees: Focus on capturing content that highlights the personal impact and individual stories of the attendees.
- Interview Setup and Execution: Set up interview locations, manage basic audio and lighting (if necessary), and guide interview subjects to ensure clear and engaging content.
- Question Development: Prepare thoughtful and relevant questions to elicit insightful and compelling responses from attendees.
- Building Rapport: Create a comfortable and engaging atmosphere for interviewees to encourage them to share their genuine experiences.
- Collaboration with Team: Coordinate with other members of the communications team to identify key attendees or specific stories to capture.
- Equipment Management: Properly handle and care for all assigned video and audio equipment.
- Footage Logging (If Required): Keep a basic log of interview subjects and the content captured for easy reference by the editing team.
- Quick Turnaround (If Necessary): Be prepared to provide footage to the editing team in a timely manner if content is needed for immediate use.
- Representing the Committee: Interact with attendees in a friendly and professional manner, representing the Communications Committee positively.
- Idea Generation: Propose creative ideas for attendee-focused video content that will resonate with the broader audience.
- Location Awareness: Be aware of different events and activities happening throughout the conclave to identify opportunities for attendee interviews and testimonials.
- Adherence to Conclave and Section Guidelines: Ensure all communication activities align with the conclave code of conduct, Section G16 brand and style guidelines, and the Scout Oath and Law.
- Other Duties: Completes other duties as assigned by the Key Lead or Operations Manager.
