Happy birthday, America! This month, we celebrated the 250th birthday of the country we call home. To commemorate this milestone, let’s take a look and see how the USA has stood the test of time.
Our story starts with the most celebrated holiday in the world: independence from the British. Using their political know-how and fancy ye olde words, our brave founding fathers boldly wrote the Declaration of Independence. They wanted to let ol’ King Georgie know that they wouldn’t put up with him mistreating them anymore. They were proud; cheerful, even; to fight for what they believed in.
Throughout American history there have been many times when we fought for each other, such as the aforementioned Revolutionary War, or in the romanticized Old West. This was a time when small communities would gather and watch out for one another. These towns would have banks, saloons, and stores, ripe for robbin’, but the communities would rely on each other and the systems they had put in place. When some do-badder started messin’ with folks, the sheriff would step in and put a stop to the nonsense. These communities would develop and their people would come to rely on the brotherhood between them.
Moving closer to modern day, we still often have to stand up for what we believe in. 57 years ago, we put together a massive team of the best and brightest. We set a goal: to demonstrate that the American way of life is a good one. Our scientists put together a project on a scale never before seen. After years of planning, failing, mathematics, physics, chemistry, politics, hidden figures, and 10 previous attempts, we managed to put people onto another celestial body. All of the people involved in those projects were happily willing to serve their country.
We are currently benefitting from all of these past events, and we often get to celebrate on holidays like the Fourth of July or events like 2026 Section G16 Conclave: Standing the Test of Time. After all, this is still the land of the free, and the home of the brave.
