2026 WICC Recap

This year, Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge had their annual event: the Wauna Inductions and Ceremonies Conference (WICC)! It took place at Camp Meriwether from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, where members from the lodge went to learn about ceremonies, voice projection, and all about the induction process. This year’s theme, “On the Path of Cheerful Service,” was full of service, fun, and learning!

WICC began on Friday night with some fun activities, such as charades, and a campfire program that set an energetic mode and welcoming tone, followed by an exemplary pre-Ordeal ceremony demonstration. On Saturday morning, the training began after breakfast, where members explored the Ordeal ceremony, learned about OA representatives and their role, and received tips to become better at ceremonies.

After lunch, the engaging workshops were in session! Attendees received personalized coaching, along with service projects and ceremonies competition. The WICC workshops offered valuable skills and leadership training. Sessions covered teaching (Elangomats), sharpening inductions (Induction masters), expanding involvement (Getting Started and Branching Out), and even learning instruments (Drumming). Creative workshops like Drumming and ceremonies competitions showed tradition, while Faux Election Training, Building the Circle, and service olympics focused on leadership and teamwork.

Saturday evening, we had awards and important announcements like promoting NLS and OAHA, followed by a strong Ordeal ceremony demonstration after dinner, then a Brotherhood ceremony that inducted about 24 members into the Brotherhood Honor. The weekend closed up on Sunday morning with a Scout’s Own service, led by our chaplain, providing a moment to reflect before departing.

To conclude, WICC 2026 was a huge success, starting off the new year for an exciting induction season. We are already looking forward to the next WICC!

Yours in Brotherhood,
