2026 Wauna Cub Super Weekend Recap

At the end of April, Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge hosted the first ever Cub Scout Super Weekend for packs across the entire council, and it was an amazing experience for everyone involved! With 90 OA members volunteering as staff, Camp Meriwether became the host for a staggering 500 participants over the weekend. Saturday was lively and bustling as everyone headed to fun activities such as cooking, shooting sports, climbing, stagecraft, scout skills, and various team-building exercises. Cubs ran around excitedly with their parents in tow in order to gain station stamps for their “passports” as they went through their day. Those who collected enough stamps got to spin a prize wheel at the end of the day and enter a raffle to win a free tent. The bulk of the event ended with a spectacular campfire show with skits from both staff and cubs, an open mic opportunity, and a tent giveaway.

The air was electric the entire weekend, and everyone had lots of fun. All of the Arrowmen on staff worked tirelessly and with great brotherhood spirit, and it showed–not a single complaint from any participants or parents! All the cubs were overjoyed to have a super weekend like older Scouts, and we were glad to see how happy the experience made them. With good feedback from attendees and even better leadership from the super weekend chairs, we know next year’s super weekend will knock it out of the park, too!
