Building on the legacy of Lo La’Qam Geela, Kunamokst Lodge proudly carried forward a valued tradition by hosting the annual Crater Lake Service Project in early August. Bringing Arrowmen and Scouts together for a day of cheerful service to Oregon’s only national park, the event highlights the partnership between the National Park Service, the Pacific Crest Council, and Kunamokst Lodge.
This year, over 20 participants from across the council delivered more than 130 hours of direct service to the park. Working together on three trails surrounding the Steel Visitor Center, crews cleared organic duff, spread and tamped fresh gravel, and lined paths with rocks to protect the landscape and maintain the park for future visitors. To top off the day, participants even enjoyed a special visit from the park superintendent during lunch.
Kunamokst Lodge is already looking forward to an even bigger and better turnout for next year’s project!
