Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge had their annual spring Rendezvous from Mar. 7-9 to celebrate their 80th anniversary, and it was a great success!
Friday night started off with fun games and activities. Participants engaged in painting vinyl records, leather pouch making, candle making, and much more as they enjoyed the delicious crackerbarrel prepared by the cook staff. In addition, the chapters spent time creating chapter T-shirts for a friendly competition. The night concluded with a reverent flag retirement ceremony, reminding the lodge of their long history and rich tradition.
Saturday was filled with workshops, fellowship, and food! After breakfast, the workshops started, providing hands-on classes and trainings. Arrowmen made wooden mallets, built and raced Lego pinewood derby cars, made slime, and competed in rain gutter regattas. Additionally, they learned about the history of the lodge, how to make keychains, and the basics of photography.
Saturday afternoon saw a multitude of activities like the climbing tower, rifle shooting, tomahawks, lawn games, Egg-O-Ree, an obstacle course, and many more! Points were awarded for each activity based on spirit and skill. Arrowmen even got the chance to chase the lodge bear mascot for a prize! That evening, the lodge held its annual banquet followed by an amazing show and awards ceremony. During the evening shows, fun chapter chief vs. lodge officer games were played, and important honors were recognized, including Founder’s Awards, Lodge Service Awards, and Vigil callout. Saturday night finished with two Brotherhood ceremonies to induct 35 members into the Brotherhood Honor.
Joining us for the weekend were some special guests, most notably the Section G16 Chief Anson Fleck, and Tsisqan Lodge Chief Ethan Green! All in all, Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge’s Rendezvous was a huge success and a ton of fun. As always, everyone is looking forward to what the coming year will hold!
